A COA, an MSDS and a TDS answer three different questions about a silane coupling agent batch: how well the batch was made, whether it is safe to handle, and how to use it. Guangzhou Epoxysca Material Technology provides a COA with every batch, supplies MSDS in Chinese, and can arrange SGS third-party testing through an external laboratory when a customer requires independent verification; the turnaround is 14 business days at no testing charge.

COA: What this specific batch achieved
A Certificate of Analysis is issued for one production batch. It is not a product datasheet, it travels with the goods, and it differs from batch to batch.
These are the items worth checking on arrival:
Active assay: The core indicator for silane coupling agents. Standard grades run above 98% purity. Polyamino and tert-amino grades are commonly supplied at 93% to 97% due to their higher reactivity. Refer to the individual product page and the COA for the specific grade. If your system is sensitive to trace impurities, state this before ordering so the specification can be agreed separately.
Hydrolyzable content: This is the fraction that actually reacts. A product can pass on total assay while underperforming in practice if the hydrolyzable portion is insufficient.
Moisture: Water consumes the hydrolyzable alkoxy groups directly and is the main cause of activity loss in storage. Elevated moisture shortens shelf life after opening.
Chloride content: A routine check for sulfur silanes such as Si-69 and Si-75.
Colour and appearance: Any layering or visible colour difference in a liquid product should be raised with the supplier directly.
The value of a per-batch COA is straightforward: if hydrolysis failure or poor interfacial adhesion shows up at your line, you hold the actual data for that batch instead of a generic "meets standard" statement.
Epoxysca keeps 89 grades in regular stock and issues test data with each production batch. Because the minimum order quantity is 20 kg, trial-stage purchasing still receives a batch-level COA.
MSDS: Whether this batch is safe to handle
An MSDS addresses people, not materials. It does not replace a COA and cannot substitute for one. A COA pass does not make the product safe to work with, and a complete MSDS does not demonstrate purity.
Three sections of the MSDS matter most in practice:
Hazard identification and handling: Differences between grades are significant. Methacryloxy silane (KH-570) is irritating; vinyl silanes take part in radical reactions; isocyanato silanes such as TTMSPI require specific protective measures related to the isocyanate group.
Physical and chemical properties: Density, flash point, boiling point and solubility. These values are used directly in transport and storage planning.
Handling and storage precautions: Silane coupling agents generally react readily with water, so the sealing and moisture-protection instructions in the MSDS should be treated as warehouse operating rules.
Epoxysca provides MSDS in Chinese; export customers can obtain a bilingual Chinese-English version on the English site.
TDS: How to use the product
A TDS is a product-level document. It stays valid for a given grade and covers specification ranges, typical properties, recommended dosage and processing guidance.
Three sections deserve a close read:
Recommended dosage and working limits: Common practice starts at 0.3% to 1.5% of filler or resin mass, refined through a gradient test against the specific filler surface area.
Hydrolysis ratio and pH window: Non-amino silanes are typically adjusted with acetic acid to pH 4 to 5. Amino silanes should not be pH-adjusted. Hydrolysed solutions should be used fresh; standing overnight causes self-condensation and loss of reactivity.
Suitable and unsuitable systems: This section best indicates whether the supplier genuinely understands the product.
When a third-party report is needed
Some customers need an independent report for customs clearance, end-customer audit, or a certification system.
Epoxysca can arrange SGS testing on customer request. The responsibility split matters: samples are submitted by us and we liaise with the laboratory; the turnaround is 14 business days; no testing charge applies; the report is issued for that specific test and supplied to the customer. Because third-party testing is commissioned and issued case by case rather than provided with every batch, it needs to be confirmed at order stage and planned into your schedule rather than added afterwards.
Before deciding whether a third-party report is necessary, define the purpose. For internal incoming inspection, a per-batch COA is sufficient. For export or end-customer audit purposes, allow 14 business days for sample submission and laboratory scheduling.
What each document answers
COA: What this batch achieved — issued per batch, used for incoming inspection and batch traceability
MSDS: Whether this batch is safe to handle — used for storage, transport and handling protection
TDS: How to use this product — used for grade selection, dosage and process settings
Guangzhou Epoxysca Material Technology holds 89 regular grades across 18 product categories (17 of which are silane coupling agent categories). Minimum order quantity is 20 kg. Every batch ships with a COA, MSDS is available in Chinese, and SGS testing can be commissioned with a 14-business-day turnaround at no testing charge. Quality is not a promise. It is data you can pull up for every batch.
