Products Description
Methyltriethoxysilane is an organosilicon compound with the chemical formula C₇H₁₈O₃Si and CAS number 2031-67-6. At room temperature and atmospheric pressure, it appears as a colorless, transparent liquid. It is insoluble in water but undergoes slow hydrolysis when exposed to moisture. It is primarily used as a cross-linking agent for one-component RTV (room temperature vulcanizing) silicone rubber, and also serves as a key raw material for producing silicone resins, phenylmethyl silicone oils, and waterproofing agents. The ethoxy groups in its molecular structure exhibit high reactivity, capable of participating in hydrolysis and condensation reactions to form siloxane bonds. These properties make it widely applicable in sol-gel processes and polymer materials.
